Yajur Jayendhar at MUN Europe

A life in international law

Model United Nations is where my interest in law stopped being a school subject and became a plan. I care about how states negotiate, how a weaker voice still gets into the text, and how a well-argued draft can become something countries actually use.

I want to read for an LLB, then a master’s in International Relations, and take that into an international law firm — or into a diplomatic career. Committee work is the rehearsal: listening harder than I speak, finding language both sides can live with, and arguing for the Global South without losing the room.

Why this path

I am drawn to the quiet work behind the speeches: mandates, trade-offs, and the sentence that lets a developing and a developed nation sign the same paper. That is the skill I want to take into legal practice and, one day, into a foreign ministry or mission.
